Atelier
'Atelier': A French word meaning "workshop". In animation terms, an Atelier can best be defined as a workshop, or studio, where a master animators, their assistants, students or apprentices can all work together on a project that is created in that studio's name.
Hands-on participation is unquestionably the best way of learning any subject and that is no less true than with animation! As our 'Foundational Certificate in Animation' program develops we plan to have a fully-fledged production studio element added to it. This means that from time-to-time we will produce animated productions through which we will be able to pay our most successful students to work with us. We will also keep a directory of all our graduates, should any other professional studios or employers of animation talent be looking for someone to hire.
It is too early to define this too specifically right now as our focus is entirely on our educational initiative. But our ultimate mission is to evolve both the teaching and the production of animation in time - i.e. taking it into entirely new areas of expertise and expression. We are determined that when that happens our students will be a major part of this journey.
