Artists and animators who want to gain a comprehensive introduction to CG/3D animation using the most popular industry program, Autodesk ‘Maya’. Also for existing traditionally-based professional artist and animators who want to supplement their knowledge with a comprehensive understanding of CG/3D animation. (Note: This is one of several elective classes that 'Foundational Certificate in Animation' students can choose from.)

Overview:
The industry today is pretty much dominated by CG/3D animation and is the most likely career path for all animators – whether they intend to work in film, games, TV or on the Web. Students in this class therefore will be introduced to all the core elements of Maya software, learning such things as 3D ‘modeling’, ‘rigging’, ‘unwrapping’, ‘texturing’, ‘animation’, ‘lighting’ and ‘rendering’.
